The annual Astoria Riverfront Cleanup has moved from the riverfront to Shively Park this year. The riverfront is in good shape thanks to the work of AmeriCorps volunteers, the locomotive group and city crews. Shively Park, on the hand, could use some improvement. Volunteers will meet at 9 a.m. May 22 at Shively Park to prune tree limbs, trim bushes and blackberry vines, cut ivy from trees and weed by the community hall.

The Astoria-Warrenton Chamber will provide SOLV bags and other items typically used at Riverfront Cleanups, but volunteers should bring their own hand clippers, rakes, shovels and small weeding tools.

Pastries, coffee and snacks will be provided.
