The annual Clatsop Community College Marine and Environmental Research and Training Station campus open house will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. May 12.

Self-guided tours, vendor displays, presentations and interactive demonstrations will be offered in the following areas: welding and fabrication, environmental science, computer-aided drafting and design, historic preservation and restoration, maritime science, fire science and automotive/mechanical technology.

In addition, a complimentary barbecue will be provided for those in attendance.

The open house will provide prospective students and visitors alike with increased exposure to and awareness of the related career opportunities through the educational programs and partnerships offered by CCC. Information on college admissions, the Career Pathways program and how to earn college credit while in high school through the "College Now" program will also be provided at the CCC booth.

Those who are interested in attending, or in learning more about the MERTS campus, should contact Kristen Wilkin at (503) 338-7696 or Judy Zell at (503) 338-7670. Information on, and directions to, the MERTS Campus are available at (www.clatsopcc.edu/merts/index.html)
