NORTH BEND -- The North Bend planning commission is meeting earlier than usual this month in order to give the North Bend School District a decision on a modular classroom at the middle school.

The planning commission will have a special meeting at 7 p.m. Aug. 14 in North Bend City Council chambers, 835 California St.

The school district is asking for a conditional use permit to add a modular classroom on the back side of North Bend Middle School in order to accommodate the addition of Lighthouse School this fall. The planning commission's decision is required before the district can place the modular.

A copy of the application and/or meeting materials will be available for inspection at no cost at least seven days prior to the meeting and copies will be provided at reasonable cost upon request.

For more information, call City Planner David Voss at 541-756-8535.
