Five schools in the Battle Ground School District in Washington State were closed Wednesday due to what the the town's police department calls "credible threats."
The online threats were made Tuesday evening. Lt. Roy Butler says one school was specifically targeted. The other four other schools were closed because of their proximity.
Police say they have consulted with the FBI, but will not release information about the nature of the threats or about the ongoing investigation. No suspects have been arrested.
Butler says he will meet with school officials later today to decide when to re-open schools.
Should students return to campuses tomorrow, Butler says there will be a security plan in place, which will likely include police officers and K-9 units.
