Republicans in Oregon have selected Delinda Morgan to challenge Rep. Suzanne Bonamici in the 1st District Congressional election this fall.

Morgan beat fellow GOP?member Lisa Michaels in the Republican primary.

Bonamici was unopposed in the Democratic primary. She took over the job midterm from David Wu who resigned amid a sex scandal.

With 158 of 199 precincts reporting statewide, Morgan has polled 17,644 votes (57 percent) to MichaelsÂ’ 13,244 votes (43 percent).

The pair were pretty even in Clatsop County. Morgan polled 1,025 votes and Michaels 1,006 (both 49 percent).
