Monday Oregon's Employment Department released unemployment figures for the state's 36 counties.

Many counties saw declines that were in line with the .2 percent drop seen statewide for the month of April.

But, more than half of all Oregon counties continue to have unemployment rates above the state average of 8 percent.

Crook County had the highest unemployment rate in the state, with a seasonally adjusted 12.8 percent.

Benton County had the lowest, with 5.8 percent.

While most counties saw unemployment drop in April, two counties -- Morrow and Sherman -- saw seasonally adjusted unemployment rates increase by a tenth of a percent.

Four other counties, Gilliam, Grant, Harney and Tillamook, were unchanged.
