SALEM — The Department of Public Safety Standards and Training will graduate its 322nd Basic Police Class at 11 a.m. Friday in the Hall of Heroes at the Oregon Public Safety Academy in Salem. Chief Wyn Lohner of the Baker City Police Department will be guest speaker.

The Basic Police Class is 16 weeks and includes dozens of training areas including survival skills, firearms, emergency vehicle operations, ethics, cultural diversity, problem solving, elder abuse and drug recognition. 

Among those graduating are Officer Ian Brown of Gearhart Police Department, Deputy William Burdick of Tillamook County Sheriff’s Office, Officer Dustin Olson of Tillamook Police Department and Officer Shawn Sims of Manzanita Department of Public Safety.
