The Clatsop County Commission on Children and Families is accepting nominations until Wednesday for its 23rd Annual Youth Recognition Awards. Eligible are youths age 12 through 20 who have either overcome personal challenges to achieve success or significantly enhanced the quality of life in the community through some form of service. In addition, youth can nominate adults who have made a significant positive impact on their lives for the Adult "Asset Builder" award.

Instructions and nomination forms are available from Teresa Crouter at (503) 325-8601. Information on how youth can nominate adults will be posted in local schools. Nominations will be reviewed and final candidates selected by the commission.

The awards will be presented at the 23rd Annual Youth Recognition Awards Banquet which will be held May 18 at the Holiday Inn Express in Astoria. Silver Salmon Grille will provide the catering.

The public is welcome to attend the luncheon. The cost is $15. Reservations are required and can be made by calling Teresa Crouter at (503) 325-8601 by May 14.
