Fort Stevens Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 10580, and the Auxiliary, of Warrenton, will hold a memorial service at 11 a.m. Monday at the Fort Stevens National Cemetery.

Following the service, the annual flag changing will take place at the Warrenton post office.

The guest speaker will be Senior Vice Commander, Department of Oregon VFW, Lawrence Alexander of Salem.

A Memorial Day service will also be held at 3 p.m. Monday at Maritime Memorial Park in the Uniontown section of Astoria, under the Astoria Bridge. All of the names on the memorial wall will be read, and those attending may bring flowers to place on the river.

At approximately 4 p.m., the four memorial benches around the Shively Fountain will be dedicated. The benches were purchased by the Columbia River Bar Pilots, Astoria High School Class of 1963, Palo’s Department Store and the Uniontown Association Inc.

Cookies, coffee and punch will be served after the dedication.
