Carol Ann Jones, 58, of Seaside, died Sunday, April 11, 2010, in Portland.

She was born Jan. 7, 1953, in Texas, to Van Buren and Betty Irene (Thomas) Jones. Her mother survives, residing in Nacogdoches, Texas. Her father preceded her in death.

In 1970, she graduated from Waltrip High School in Houston, and then graduated from the University of Houston-Downtown with a major in psychology.

Ms. Jones worked for Southwestern Bell in Houston for 25 years. She was the co-owner and co-operator of two gift shops in the Warrenton/Astoria/Seaside area with her ex-husband, Archie Cook, for many years after coming to Oregon.

She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Family members said she enjoyed dogs, travel, books, cooking, crafts and antiques.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by three brothers, Greg Jones of Smithville, Texas, Travis Jones of Anaheim, Calif., and Clifton Jones of Nacogdoches, Texas; and a sister, Janice Jones of Portland.

A memorial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 17 at North Coast Family Fellowship, in The Cove meeting room, 2245 N. Wahanna Road in Seaside.

Emily's Cremation and Burial Service of Portland is in charge of the arrangements.
