Grace Veronica Belgard, 65, of Seaside, died Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2008, in Seaside.
She was born Oct. 18, 1942, in Fort Totten, N.D., to Sam and Mary (King) Moore. She was a Spirit Lake Sioux Indian.
After graduating from high school in Fort Totten, she was the women's basketball coach. She moved to Bremerton, Wash.
She married Merlin Belgard. He preceded her in death.
Mrs. Belgard was in the nursing profession for 37 years.
Family members said she loved the outdoors, barbecuing with her family and friends, fishing, the ocean and her cat, Fancy.
She is survived by a son, Gerald Lee Belgard of Washington; a sister, Irene Moore of Port Orchard, Wash.; a daughter-in-law, Tamara Lynn Belgard of Seaside; a foster daughter, Deanna LaDue; six grandchildren, Sonny, Steven, Joshua, Misty and Brittany Belgard and Cassandra Hope; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Moore; a twin brother, Gary Moore; and two other brothers, Ed and Rex Moore.
A service will be held at 3 p.m. Monday at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home in Bremerton followed at 5 p.m. by a wake at the American Legion in Bremerton.
