Jeanette Ann Welch, 73, of Seaside, died Sunday, April 4, 2010, in Seaside.

She was born May 1, 1936, in Longview, Wash., to William and Irene (Smethurst) Welch.

Raised in Westport, she graduated from Seaside High School and subsequently from Marylhurst College.

Miss Welch was a longtime resident of Seaside. She was a high school mathematics teacher.

She was a charter member of the Vestibular Disorders Association in Portland. She was also a member of St. Margaret's Guild in Seaside, the National Education Association and the Oregon Education Association.

She is survived by a sister, Nancy L. Welch of Spokane Valley, Wash.; two nephews, Norman Welch Jr. of Venita and David Welch of Otis; two nieces, Teresa Welch of Portland and Monica Welch of Spokane Valley; nine great-nieces and nephews; and several cousins.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 10 at Greenwood Cemetery in Astoria, followed by a memorial at 1 p.m. at the Calvary Episcopal Church in Seaside.
