Mary Fae Fisher, 75, of Seaside, died Thursday, March 18, 2010, in Seaside.

She was born Nov. 22, 1934, in Los Angeles, to Henry E. and Jessie L. Pyne. She attended public school in Stockton, Calif.

On Feb. 18, 1951, she married Alfred J. Rice in Stockton. The couple had four children and later divorced.

On July 2, 1971, she married Fred Joe Fisher in Astoria. He survives, residing in Seaside. The couple moved to Portland in 1972, then to Seaside in 2002.

Mrs. Fisher was a homemaker. She also worked in retail.

She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church.

Family members said her greatest love and accomplishment was raising her children. She loved spending time with family and friends, crocheting, reading, swimming, salmon fishing, clam digging and the outdoors. She also loved volunteering for the Start Making A Reader Today program in Portland schools.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Eric and Cheryl Rice of Turlock, Calif., and Mark and Susan Rice of Portland; a daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Terry McCleary of Astoria; 10 grandchildren, Aaron Rice and his wife, Sabrina, of Hughson, Calif., Terry McCleary Jr. and his partner, Kristin Samuelson, Brianna and Christianna McCain and Lindsey and Sarah Rice, all of Portland, Kellie McCleary of San Fransisco, Katie and Evan Rice of Turlock and Alanna McCleary of Astoria; and four great-grandchildren, Aaron Rice Jr. and Blake Rice of Hughson, Keegan McCleary of Portland and Parker Rice of Turlock.

She was preceded in death by a sister, June Gothburg; a brother, Henry "Hank" Pyne; and a daughter, Dianna Rice McCain.

A rosary will be said at 6 p.m. Friday, March 26 at Hughes-Ransom Cremation & Mortuaries, 220 N. Holladay Drive in Seaside.

A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 27 at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 120 Ocean Way in Seaside.

Interment will take place at Fort Stevens Cemetery.
