The Oregon Department of Transportation provides the following updates on area road construction projects:

• Old Youngs Bay Bridge rehabilitation

The contractor is demobilizing and completing punch work on the bridge. There is a possibility of single lane closures throughout the week and minor delays in the work area.

• Thirty-third Street to Hamburg Avenue pavement overlay

Daytime paving between 16th and 33rd streets on Marine Drive begins this week, weather permitting. Expect minor traffic delays throughout the work area.

• U.S. Highway 101 - Cannon Beach North Entrance

The southbound U.S. 101 entrance to Cannon Beach is scheduled to open by 8 a.m. Oct. 5. Expect minor traffic delays and occasional lane closures as work on the new interchange continues. The north exits from Cannon Beach will remain closed throughout much of the coming year. Drivers should be cautious and watch for bicyclists on the roadway through the work zone.

• U.S. Highway 30 - Clatsop County line to Supply Creek pavement overlay

The contractor will be installing drainage curbs and traffic delineators along the project limits. All paving activity is completed. The highway paint striping should be performed next week, and the contractor will return next spring to install new durable striping throughout the project.

• U.S. 101 and Oregon Highway 202 intersection - Smith Point roundabout

Traffic has been rescheduled to be moved onto the roundabout Oct. 1. This allows the contractor to complete work within the roundabout roadway (islands, walks, etc.) Watch for tips on how to use the new Smith Point roundabout on the local cable access channel.

Roadway work should be complete by Oct. 31. Some planting and landscaping work will continue this winter to place plants during their dormant stage.
