At 1:45 a.m. Friday, Oregon State Police stopped a vehicle for a license plate violation at Marine Drive and Florence Avenue. Troopers discovered marijuana and methamphetamine. Kari J. Henningsgaard, 26, of Astoria, was cited for possession of a controlled substance, more than an ounce of marijuana. She was released.
At 9:15 p.m. Sunday, Oregon State Police stopped a vehicle on U.S. Highway 30 near milepost 83 for suspicion of driving under the influence of intoxicants. Troopers discovered both marijuana and alcohol in the car driven by Henry D. Martinez, 64, of Warm Springs. Martinez was cited for possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, driving while suspended and failing to register as a sex offender with his last date of contact as an offender listed as Feb. 25, 2011. Martinez was later released.
At 6:55 p.m. Saturday, Oregon State Police attempted to stop a vehicle on U.S. Highway 30 near milepost 86 after observing the Ford Mustang GT traveling at more than 100 miles per hour. The vehicle, driven by Larry R. Carlson, 59, address unavailable, attempted to elude troopers through Knappa before crashing near Ziak Gnat Creek Road where Carlson was taken into custody without incident. Carlson, according to the report, was under the influence of intoxicants with a recorded blood alcohol level of .11 percent. Carlson is charged with DUII, attempt to elude, reckless driving, speeding at more than 100 miles per hour, open container and failure to maintain a lane. He was lodged in the Clatsop County Jail.
At 4:50 p.m. Saturday, Oregon State Police stopped a vehicle on U.S. Highway 30 near milepost 73 for speeding. The driver, Mary E. Megiveron, 32, of Longview, Wash., troopers discovered, had two warrants for her arrest out of Clackamas and Washington County with a $10,000 bail for each. Megiveron was arrested and lodged at the Clatsop County Jail. She was also cited for speeding, having no operators license and driving uninsured.
