Woman arrested for arson• An investigation by Warrenton police and Oregon State Police resulted in the arrest Thursday of Susan Louise Knispel, 42, of Warrenton on a charge of first-degree arson.

The arrest stems from a fire Sept. 19 that caused minor damage to a corner of the kitchen of Knispel's residence at 224 N.W. Cedar Court. According to Warrenton police, the circumstances of the fire led to an investigation by local police and an OSP arson investigator, who determined that Knispel had deliberately set the fire for economic gain. Knispel was taken into custody Thursday and lodged at Clatsop County Jail.

Crash leads to arrest• A Lake Oswego woman was arrested on charges of driving under the influence of intoxicants and careless driving after a two-car head-on collision Sunday afternoon on U.S. Highway 26, one mile west of the State Highway 53 junction. According to Oregon State Police, Anna Cutter, 32, of Lake Oswego, was westbound when her 2001 Acura crossed the center line into the path of a 1991 Toyota driven by Phillip Getsinger. A passenger in the Toyota, Melissa Getsinger, 19, of Newberg received serious injuries and was transported to Emanuel Hospital in Portland.

DUII arrest• Michael William Stunkard, 25, of 41653 Old Highway 30, was arrested by a Clatsop County Sheriff's deputy on a charge of DUII Saturday at about 2:20 a.m. on U.S. Highway 30 near Ivy Station Road. He was transported to Clatsop County Jail.

• At 2:48 a.m. Sunday, Seaside police arrested Nicholas Carl Sheldon, 23 , of Sandy, for DUII at 429 S. Holladay in Seaside.

Criminal mischief• At 11:04 a.m. Thursday, Seaside police responded to a criminal mischief complaint at 821 S. Columbia St., Seaside, where an intoxicated property manager had been breaking glass.

• At 10:32 a.m. Saturday, Seaside police reported a driver's side window of a vehicle broken at 210 10th Ave., Seaside.

• At 11:32 p.m. Saturday, Seaside police found graffiti of a marijuana plant and mushroom inside the bathrooms at Goodman Park on Necanicum Drive, Seaside.

Vehicle theft• At 9:14 a.m. Thursday, Seaside police took a report of a stolen car that an officer recognized as a car parked at 820 14th Ave., Seaside. The car was impounded.

Theft from car• At 6:46 a.m. Saturday, Seaside police reported a driver's side window broken and stereo faceplate stolen from a car parked at 2125 No. 11 S. Downing St., Seaside.

Fires• At 1:50 p.m. Tuesday, the Seaside Fire Department responded to a fire at the Coffee Roaster, 20 N. Holladay Drive, Seaside, when a coffee roaster was left on for too long and caught fire. Firefighters ventilated the building, which was not damaged, but smelled very bad from the burnt beans, Fire Chief Joe Dotson said.

• At 6:53 p.m. Tuesday, the Seaside Fire Department put out a car fire in the Safeway parking lot at 401 S. Roosevelt Drive, Seaside, where a driver forgot to replace his oil cap. Oil spilled over the engine and caught fire, but there was no serious damage, firefighters reported.

Crash totals vehicles• At 9:30 p.m. Saturday, the Seaside Fire Department reported that a driver hit a parked truck that crashed into a parked car on 1100 Second Ave. All three vehicles were reported totaled.
