Vehicle break-ins• Two overnight car break-ins were reported to Astoria police Monday, one in the 500 block of 35th Street, the other in the 1300 block of Olney Avenue.

Assault arrest• At 11:11 p.m. Monday, Warrenton police arrested Herman Glen Schluter, 43, of Astoria in the first block of Southwest Birch Street, for fourth-degree domestic assault, weapons charges, strangulation and interfering with a police officer. He was lodged at Clatsop County Jail.

Assault reported• At 10:45 p.m. Wednesday, Cannon Beach police arrested Michael Lynn Nicholl, 37, of Kenmore, Wash., for fourth-degree assault, harassment, criminal trespass, disorderly conduct and criminal mischief after he started a fight in Bill's Tavern at 188 N. Hemlock St. and had to be restrained by the bartender and witnesses.

Hit and run arrest• At 7:48 p.m. Thursday, Seaside police arrested Suzanne Frances Headman, 65, of Seattle, for hit and run after her vehicle struck a car parked at the Ebb Tide Motel at 300 N. Prom, knocking the bumper off.

Theft• At 3:58 p.m. Saturday, Seaside police reported a backpack containing Visa cards and $200 in cash and property stolen from an area near the Necanicum River.
