Assault arrestAt 10:34 a.m. Wednesday, a Clatsop County Sheriff's deputy responded to a disturbance on the 90300 block of Hawkins Road, where a female reported being assaulted and trying to leave. A man was throwing rocks at the car. Chester Edward Bushnell, 32, of 90300 Hawkins Road, in Warrenton, was subsequently arrested and booked into the Clatsop County Jail on charges of fourth-degree assault and interference with making a police report. Bushnell posted bail and was released.

TheftAt 11:56 a.m. Thursday, Astoria police began investigating a theft from Fort George Brewery, 1483 Duane St.

DisturbanceAt 7:36 a.m. Thursday, Astoria police responded to a disturbance at Comfort Suites, 3420 Lief Erikson Drive, where a man was refusing to leave the motel. Police arrested Astoria transient Keith Arni Rautio, 54, for second-degree criminal trespass, first-degree disorderly conduct and menacing. He was cited at the Clatsop County Jail at 8:12 a.m. and released from jail at 9 a.m. Rautio is set to be arraigned April 1 in Astoria Municipal Court. Astoria police have responded to disturbances caused by Rautio, mainly downtown, at least six times this month and he has been briefly jailed at least four times.

Traffic accidentsAt 6:49 a.m. Thursday, a Western Oregon Waste garbage truck and another vehicle collided on U.S. Highway 101 near Glenwood Village in Warrenton. Oregon State Police and the Warrenton Fire Department responded. Firefighters used the Jaws of Life to extricate the woman driver of the car and she was transported to Columbia Memorial Hospital with unspecified injuries.

At 7 p.m. Wednesday, two vehicles collided head-on on U.S. Highway 26. Members of the Elsie-Vinemaple Volunteer Fire Department and a Clatsop County Sheriff's deputy responded. At 9:30 p.m. the same fire department responded to another accident a mile further east. No further details were available.
