Drug arrest• At 10 p.m. Thursday, Oregon State Police arrested Tami Kay Mullen, 41, of Seaside on drug charges after stopping her pickup for an equipment violation on U.S. Highway 26, 27 miles east of the Cannon Beach junction, near the Sunset summit. A search of her vehicle allegedly turned up approximately 100 hypodermic needles, seven methamphetamine pipes and a large container with various other drug-related items, including less than an ounce of marijuana. She also had an open container of alcohol. Mullen was cited and released.

Thefts• At 3:28 p.m. Thursday, Seaside police reported a boat motor, bird feeder and garden decoration, worth $320, were stolen from 430 S. Holladay Drive.

• At 9:38 a.m. Wednesday, Seaside police reported $550 in tools was stolen from a car parked in the Trendwest parking garage at 26 Avenue A.

Missing children• Two 13-year-old girls were rescued at midnight Wednesday from Tillamook Head. They had been reported missing at 8:52 p.m., after they failed to return from a bike ride as promised at 6 p.m. At 10 p.m., Seaside police officers searching the Tillamook Head parking lot found their bikes. U.S. Coast Guard Air Station Astoria launched an HH-60 Jayhawk helicopter to search with night vision goggle. With the help of the sheriff's department, police officers located the girls on the trail at about midnight. They had become lost on the trail. Both girls were cold but in good health and were returned to family members.
