Theft arrest? Seaside police arrested Leonard Shane Hitchman, 38, of Gearhart in connection with a string of thefts from motor vehicles that occurred overnight Monday. He was transported to and booked at the Seaside Police Department.

Total value of the items stolen was $754. All items were recovered. The cases have been turned over to the Clatsop County District Attorney.

Hitchman was arrested on allegations of criminal trespass, second- and third-degree theft and possession of a personal identification device.

The thefts were reported at 11:10 p.m. at 412 S. Downing St.; 2:06 a.m., South Downing Street and Avenue S; 2:11 a.m., location unknown; 2:28 a.m., 430 Avenue S; and 2:55 p.m., 2190 Grove St.

Thefts? At 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Warrenton police got a report of pop machines broken into overnight on the 900 block of Pacific Drive. Less than an hour earlier, someone had reported finding parts from a coin machine at nearby Fort Stevens State Park.

? At 10:05 a.m. Saturday, another pop machine break-in was reported, this one on the first block of Northeast Harbor Place in Warrenton.

? At 11:40 a.m. Monday, a welding machine was reported stolen from the 92300 block of Youngs River Road. The Clatsop County Sheriff's Office is investigating.

Domestic Disturbance? At 4:53 p.m. Sept. 15, James Lee Adams, 37, of Seaside, was arrested on allegations of domestic disturbance. The case has been forwarded to the Clatsop County District Attorney.

Bar Fight? At 12:14 a.m. Sunday, Warrenton police responded to the South Jetty Inn, 1015 Pacific Drive, where about 10 people reportedly were fighting. A Clatsop County Sheriff's deputy assisted and the Warrenton Fire Department was dispatched to provide medical assistance to a person in the fight who had received a head injury.

DUII arrest? At 2:09 a.m. Sunday, Astoria police arrested Joshua Michael Davis, 24, of 1842 Beach Drive, Seaside, for driving under the influence of intoxicants on the 400 block of West Marine Drive.

Assault? At 12:51 a.m. today, a Clatsop County Sheriff's deputy arrested Troy Reino Buganan, 27, of Warrenton, at Spruce Run Park, in connection with an incident that happened Monday afternoon. He was charged with second-degree assault and lodged at the county jail.
