DUII arrests? At 7:15 p.m. Monday, Oregon State Police stopped Paul Allen Ward, 36, of Warrenton, as he drove his blue Dodge car south on U.S. Highway 101 near Camp Rilea at 72 mph in a 55 mph zone. OSP said subsequent investigation revealed Ward was impaired and had a blood alcohol level of 0.08 percent. He was arrested for driving under the influence of intoxicants and violating the basic rule. His car was towed.
? At 11:05 p.m. Monday, OSP observed a 1983 Chevy pickup that was being driven erratically on U.S. Highway 30 in Astoria. After an investigation, OSP determined the driver, Brian K. Smith, 38, of Astoria, was impaired. After he refused a breath test, OSP obtained a search warrant for a blood sample. Smith was arrested for DUII and also charged with refusing a breath test.
Vandalism and theft? At 8:17 a.m. Wednesday, Cellular Connections, 261 W. Marine Drive, reported windows broken out and a vehicle vandalized.
? At 1:04 p.m. Wednesday, two garden gnomes were reported stolen from a yard on the 100 block of West Klaskanine Avenue.
