Burglaries At 3:23 p.m. Thursday, a resident of the 1500 block of South Main Avenue in Warrenton reported someone apparently had been inside her house. Warrenton police are investigating the incident as first-degree burglary.
Thefts At 4:23 p.m. Thursday, Astoria police began investigating a report that someone had taken several items from a laundry room in the 1100 block of Eighth Street.
At 6:35 p.m. Wednesday, Seaside police reported $40 binoculars stolen from an unlocked car at 1250 Second Ave.
Stolen vehicle At 12:07 a.m. today, Astoria police stopped a vehicle in the 100 block of West Marine Drive that had been reported stolen out of The Dalles. Police arrested Charles Samuel Poindexter, 55, address unknown, for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and giving false information. His companion, Katherine R. Poindexter, 36, address unknown, was arrested on an outstanding warrant from Florida. Both were lodged at Clatsop County Jail.
Reckless driver At 6:20 p.m. Thursday, Oregon State Police stopped Scott Jason McCann, 24, of Astoria, for allegedly speeding down Saddle Mountain Hill on his motorcycle at over 105 mph with a female passenger on the back. McCann was cited for violating the basic rule, reckless driving and reckless endangering.
