DUII arrest? At 12 a.m. Sunday, Astoria police arrested Bruce Kevin Greene, 42, of Covington, Wash., on the 1200 block of Irving Avenue, for driving under the influence of intoxicants and reckless endangerment. He was cited at the Clatsop County Jail and given a conditional release.
? At 1:45 a.m. Sunday, Oregon State Police arrested Everett Wendell Beaston, 48, of St. Helens, for DUII on U.S. Highway 101 in Warrenton after stopping him for failure to maintain his lane. He was cited at the county jail and released.
? At 2:30 a.m. Sunday, Astoria police arrested Jonathan Lawrence Preuss, 25, of 548 S.W. First St., Warrenton, for DUII at 11th and Commercial streets. He was cited at the county jail and released.
Vehicle break-ins? At 8:47 a.m. Friday, an overnight vehicle break-in was reported on the 100 block of West Klaskanine Avenue.
? At 10:40 a.m. Sunday, a car stereo was reported stolen from a vehicle on the 400 block of Hamburg Avenue.
Counterfeit moneyAt 9:04 a.m. Friday, Wauna Federal Credit Union, 100 Columbia Ave., reported receiving counterfeit currency.
Burglaries and thefts? At 1:35 p.m. Friday, a resident of the 300 block of Alameda Avenue found the door of his apartment kicked in when he arrived home. Astoria police are investigating.
? At 10:15 a.m. Saturday, an iPod was reported stolen from Astoria High School.
? At 9:51 a.m. Sunday, Astoria police got a report that two stainless steel shovels and a clam bag had been stolen from a residence on the 1800 block of Fourth Street.
Reckless endangering? At 4:12 p.m. Friday, Astoria police arrested Robert Kasimir West, 30, on four counts of reckless endangerment, after he reportedly got into a physical altercation with his wife while driving the family car in Astoria. West was lodged at the Clatsop County Jail and was set to be arraigned today in circuit court. The DART (Domestic Abuse Response Team) was dispatched to help the family.
Vandalism? At 7:17 p.m. Saturday, Astoria police got a report of vandalism at Astor Elementary School, 3550 Franklin Ave., where a man around 50 years old, wearing a football jersey and carrying a sleeping bag, was seen using black spray paint on the school building. Astoria police were unable to locate the suspect.
Traffic accident? At 8:47 p.m. Saturday, a horse ran out onto U.S. Highway 30 from Ivy Station Road and was hit and killed by a vehicle driven by Robert Glenn Brott, 33, of Astoria. Brott was transported to Columbia Memorial Hospital to be treated for a minor injury. His vehicle was towed. The Knappa Svensen Fire Department and a Clatsop County Sheriff's deputy assisted Oregon State Police at the scene.
Sex offender? At 2 p.m. Sunday, Oregon State Police arrested Nicholas John Adam King, 22, of Portland, for failure to register as a sex offender and took him to the county jail, where he was cited and released. King was a passenger in a vehicle that ran off U.S. Highway 30 when the trailer it was towing disconnected from the hitch near the John Day boat ramp and traveled across the westbound lane, narrowly missing a power pole. No one was injured.
