At 11:03 p.m. Monday, Astoria police responded to a report of a domestic disturbance between a man and a woman at a residence in Astoria.
An Astoria police officer, assisted by a Clatsop County Sheriffs deputy, arrested Audrey Rae Magallon, 32, and her husband, Robert Augustus Lewis, 25, both of Astoria.
Both were charged with fourth-degree assault.
Lewis was also charged with interfering with making a police report. There was a court-ordered no-contact order in place, according to police, and Lewis was not supposed to be at the residence.
Magallon also faces one count of probation violation. In Nov. 2010, she had pled guilty to charges of theft and computer fraud in a surrogacy scam case. She had advertised herself as a surrogate mother and convinced two couples to pay for babies that never existed.
Theft and Pursuit
At 1:25 p.m., Warrenton police arrested Samuel Joe Johnson Jr., 21, of Astoria, after he tried to run away from an officer near Fred Meyer, 695 S. Highway 101. He had stolen an estimated $500 worth of merchandise from the store, according to managers at Fred Meyer. He faces charges of second-degree theft and one count of resisting arrest.
