Thefts? At 6:19 p.m. Saturday, Seaside police arrested Scott A. Stogsdill, 35, of Bend and resident of Thugz off Drugz, at 860 S. Roosevelt Drive in Seaside, for first-degree theft.
? At 10:28 a.m. Friday, Seaside police responded to a report at 102 N. Holladay Drive in Seaside of four stolen televisions with a total value $1,500.
DUII arrests? At 2:24 a.m. Saturday, Seaside police arrested Arteaga J. Aguirre, 25, of 1021 S. Downing, Seaside, for driving under the influence of intoxicants at 860 S. Roosevelt Drive in Seaside.
? At 1:18 a.m. Sunday, Oregon State Police arrested Michele Louise McDermid, 43, of Vancouver, Wash., for a traffic violation on U.S. Highway 30 in Astoria. A trooper determined she was under the influence of intoxicants, OSP reported. McDermid was taken to Clatsop County Jail, where a search revealed she was in possession of the controlled substance Vicodin.
Traffic accident? At 1:30 p.m. Friday, a Chevrolet driven by Luis Farfan-Miran, 38, of Cannon Beach, crashed into the rear of a Volkswagen that had stopped behind a vehicle waiting to make a left turn off U.S. Highway 101 into Forest Lake Resort, south of Seaside, Oregon State Police reported. The VW driver, Carl Amos Higdon, 72, of Cloverdale, was taken to Providence Seaside Hospital to be examined. Farfan-Miran was cited for following too closely. Personnel from the Seaside Fire Department and the Oregon Department of Transportation assisted at the scene.
Burglary arrest? At 6:48 p.m. Saturday, a Clatsop County Sheriff's deputy arrested Jacob W. Zea, 24, of Astoria, for first-degree burglary and criminal trespass, after a resident of the 35000 block of Mudd Lane reported that a neighbor had caught Zea running from his shop. The neighbor took the keys to Zea's car, which had been parked nearby, to prevent him from escaping. Zea was lodged at the county jail.
Assault arrests? At 11:20 p.m. Sunday, Astoria police arrested Gene Percy Bennett, 52, for fourth-degree assault and menacing after a disturbance at his home in the 1500 block of Irving Avenue. He was taken to Columbia Memorial Hospital and then to Clatsop County Jail.
? At 2:29 a.m. today, Astoria police responded to a report of an assault at a home in the 5000 block of Cedar Street. Police arrested Troy J. Haskell, 46, of Astoria, for fourth-degree assault, harassment and menacing and lodged him at the jail.
