The Ear received a note from the Seaside Aquarium about their open house March 1. "Over 1,000 people came in and were able to visit with the aquarium staff and the volunteers of Friends of Haystack Rock," the note said. "It was great opportunity to meet Nala Cardillo, the new coordinator for the Haystack Rock Awareness Program, and say good-bye to Lisa Sheffield-Guy, the previous program coordinator.

"The Seaside Aquarium was able to raise $700 for the Haystack Awareness Program and over $500 for the Wildlife Center of the North Coast. A major highlight of the afternoon was Sharnelle Fee and her birds. She was able to come and display some of her program animals, one of whom was Netarts the pelican. People got a chance to visit with her and learn more about her program (www.coastwildlife.org) and what to do if they come across injured birds ... A good time was had by all." It certainly sounds like it.
