Volunteers removed an estimated 40, 0000 pounds of trash from the coastline during the SOLV Great Oregon Fall Beach Cleanup annual event held Sept. 20. Event organizers say the annual cleanup was a great success.

More than 3,700 volunteers scoured the entire Oregon coast, over 360 miles, to clean the beaches of debris and trash that had accumulated during the summer months. Some volunteers have been participating in this event religiously for the last ten years, and some drove more than 200 miles to participate.
