RAYMOND, Wash. - A workshop titled "The Economy of Pacific County: An Update for Business and Community Leaders" is scheduled for Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Pacific County PUD meeting room in Raymond. The workshop is free of charge and is designed for business and community leaders, port officials, agency personnel, city, county and state officials, and others with an interest in the local economy.

The future economic vitality of Pacific County may depend on a better understanding of what drives our local economy. This workshop presents updates to a recent economic study funded by the Pacific Northwest Coastal Ecosystem Region Study and will be presented by Northwest natural resource economist Hans Radke. Copies of the report and presentation materials will be provided to all participants.

Topics to be discussed include: the economic contribution of timber, marine, agriculture, and service sectors, personal income contribution from various sources, jobs created by each sector, transfer payments as a portion of the economy, and economic multipliers in the Pacific County economy.
