Free camping, free day-use entry, free food and an assortment of free fun are all highlights of the seventh annual State Parks Day Saturday.

The Oregon Parks and Recreation Department will waive rental fees for full hookup, electrical hookup and tent sites Saturday night at all state park campgrounds. It will also waive day-use fees at the 26 parks that require day-use area parking permits.

Guided tours, open houses and hot dog barbecues in parks throughout the state round out a full day of statewide festivities. Some parks will have special exhibits, evening campground programs and living history presentations with interpreters in historically authentic apparel.
