ASTORIA – Eric Paulson of Lektro was named the first recipient of the new “Ambassadors’ Choice” award during the Astoria-Warrenton Chamber or Commerce’s awards banquet in January.

The award, sponsored by the Chamber Ambassadors, is given to a business or person who excelled in serving the community and Chamber members.

Paulson stood out among other nominees for his “generosity and love of the community,” said Joyce Rangila, the 2011 president of the Chamber Ambassadors.

Paulson was chosen as the inaugural winner for being an enthusiastic cheerleader for the Warrenton-Astoria area and the Chamber. In 2011, he threw a huge party, built a float, traveled the Pacific Northwest with the Regatta Association, sponsored the Reba McEntire concert, hosted an English lord, and generally gave his all for the Astoria Bicentennial.

The Astoria-Warrenton Chamber ambassadors foster the economic growth and development of the Lower Columbia Region. They host ribbon-cuttings, ground-breaking ceremonies, grand openings and welcoming new businesses to the area.
