Aug. 15

7:25 a.m., 100 block of North Columbia Street: Caller on 911 with an open line. Man yelling at children. Officers located a family in the church. The father was scolding the kids, but there was no issue.

3:46 p.m., 1300 block of Alder Drive: Caller reported harassment on her son from another boy. Officer made contact with all parties and advised of options. Matter resolved.

6:43 p.m., 2100 block of Lewis and Clark Road: Caller reported her downstairs neighbor playing loud music and emitting the odor of marijuana. Officer contacted the subject and advised a warning for noise.

Aug. 16

2:47 a.m., Lifeguard tower: Caller reported several subjects inside the lifeguard tower. Officer responded and gave a verbal warning to all for trespassing.

1:37 p.m., Beach: Lifeguards reported an 8-year-old missing on the beach. Officer responded and assisted in locating her. She was OK.

6:44 p.m., 700 block of South Wahanna Road: Caller reporting intoxicated person possibly getting ready to drive. Officer made contact and advised sober person on scene taking responsibility.

Aug. 17

3:04 a.m., 900 block of South Holladay Drive: Officer located two subjects in a vehicle. They reported just watching their band equipment because someone allegedly tried to break into it earlier.

3:25 a.m., 1000 block of South Downing Street: Anonymous complaint about loud talking or yelling in the area. Officer searched the area, unable to locate. Later returned, argument over Obamacare.

8:18 p.m., Prom at turnaround: Caller reporting persons intoxicated and fighting. Officer advised persons just play fighting. They were advised of disorderly conduct and were moving along.

Aug. 18

12:20 p.m., Broadway and Holladay Drive: Caller reported that a passenger got out of a truck and threatened several juveniles, then got back into the truck and left the area. Officer attempted to locate the suspect and the juveniles but was unable to locate them in the area.

1:43 p.m., 2100 block of Lewis and Clark Road: Caller reported a neighbor pouring water on her dog from the balcony above. Officer responded and gave both mediation cards. Nothing criminal, water was unintentionally dropped while watering plants.

3:31 p.m., Ocean Way and Columbia Street: Caller reported a dog inside of a hot car. Officer responded and checked on the dog. It was lively, had access to shade and its nose was still wet. Dog was OK.

Aug. 19

1:43 a.m., 1000 block of South Downing Street: Caller reporting strange noises coming from her neighbor's apartment. Officers made contact, and it was just a group of friends goofing off.

8:55 a.m., Turnaround: Third party report of a male and a female in public smoking a pipe or "bong." Officer responded and found them to be smoking tobacco only, unfounded.

11:29 p.m., Turnaround: Caller reporting five to 20 kids smoking marijuana at the turnaround. Officers arrived, and nobody was there.

Aug. 20

1:42 p.m., Holladay at Avenue A: Complaint of male subject yelling and cursing and pointing at people and vehicles while swinging a chain around. Officer responded to the area but was unable to locate the subject.

4:14 p.m., Prom at Fifth Avenue: Caller reported campers on the beach since last night. Officer contacted subjects who stated they were not sleeping in the tent. They will take tent down. Enjoying dinner for now.

4:47 p.m., 2300 block of Edgewood Street: Caller advised unlawful lodging in a camper on the street. Officer checked, and the people were not sleeping in the camper, they were using it as an office in the morning when they wake up early in order not to wake the other house guests.

Aug. 21

4:45 p.m., 2400 block of Pine Street: Officer responded to request for welfare check after receiving 911 call with nothing on the line. Child had been playing with phone and didn't realize he had called 911. Parent advised, who stated it wouldn't happen again.

6:26 p.m., First Avenue at Columbia Street: Caller reported dog in locked car. Outside temp was 64 degrees. Officer responded and spoke with daughter of dog's owner, who was currently out walking the dog. Windows were rolled down approximately two inches. Nothing further.

9:07 p.m., 2400 block of U.S. Highway 101: Report of fight between two females. Officers arrived and contacted both parties. Advised both subjects if they were contacted again, both would be taken to  jail for noncriminal detox.

Aug. 22

3:23 a.m., Turnaround: Caller reporting a man yelling and screaming and carrying a red sleeping bag. Officer contacted the man, who seemed to be having a disagreement with imaginary people.

2:32 p.m., 400 block of Broadway: Complaint that subject wouldn't pay for item he broke. Officer arrived and a civil compromise was reached between both parties.

11:01 p.m., 1100 block of 12th Avenue: Officer responded to report of male yelling. Officer contacted and advised subject thought his child may be in the area so was yelling for him.

2:11 p.m., Broadway at Edgewood Street: Officer issued a verbal warning for unlawful solicitation.

3:25 p.m., Seventh Avenue at Roosevelt Drive: Officer responded to report of mini-motorcycle weaving in and out of traffic. Officer unable to locate.

9:48 p.m., 1900 block of Spruce Drive: Wife called requesting welfare check on her husband with a heart condition. Officer checked on subject who was fine and advised him to call his wife.

Aug. 25

2:52 a.m., Avenue G at Edgewood Street: Caller reported a male standing in the road yelling at him. Officers arrived, and the male was gone. Incident was verbal in nature only.

9:30 a.m., 20 block of Broadway: Caller reported two vans parked over the three-hour limit. Officer responded and chalked the tires for follow-up.

Noon, Estuary and Franklin Street: Caller reported a strange white substance on the beach. Officer responded and found what looked like baby powder on some rocks. He didn't believe it was anything hazardous.

Aug. 26

12:59 a.m., 200 block of 12th Avenue: Caller reporting a noise disturbance. Third night in a row they are having a loud party. Officers contacted the occupants of the house and advised them of the complaint. They agreed to quiet down for the night.

7:13 a.m., Avenue A at Prom: Caller reporting a male going through a dumpster and making a huge mess. Officer contacted the subject, and he will be cleaning up his mess and moving on.

9:46 p.m., 400 block of Broadway: Officer responded to report of subject attempting to get into cash box. Officer contacted subject, who refused to consent to search of vehicle or person.

Aug. 27

1:31 a.m., 400 block of South Roosevelt Drive: Subject reporting his longboard missing from the can room at Safeway. Officer arrived and located the board where it had rolled away.

6:28 p.m., 200 block of Broadway: Officer responded and picked up found pipe and brought back to police department for destruction.

9:19 p.m., 100 block of South Wahanna Road: Officer responded to a report of a group of people, one possibly with a baseball bat. Officer contacted subjects and advised no weapons or disturbance.
