SEASIDE - A van accident disrupted power in Seaside Wednesday.

Charles Anthony Chapin, 70, of Seaside, drove into a power pole near the 76 Station at 2323 S. Roosevelt Drive in Seaside at 7:19 a.m. His son, Fredrick Alan Chapin, 41, was a passenger in the vehicle.

Charles Chapin is suspected to have had a small stroke and lost control of the vehicle.

Both Charles and Fredrick Chapin were transported to Columbia Memorial Hospital. No information was available on their conditions.

The power outage affected 388 Pacific Power customers. Power was restored to all but three customers by 12:30 p.m. The final three customers had power returned by 3 p.m.

No charges were filed.
