Clatsop County Planning Commission will meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday to continue the public hearing on the proposed Miles Crossing-Jeffers Gardens Rural Community Plan. The hearing will be held in conference room 120 on the first floor of 800 Exchange St., Astoria.

Oregon law allows an identifiable rural community with homes and businesses to be designated as a "Rural Community," which may permit the area to be served by community water and sewer services. The proposed Jeffers Gardens-Miles Crossing Rural Community Plan would enable the area to create a community sewer system, a step toward resolving existing sanitation problems.

For more information about the rural community plan, call the Clatsop County Community Development Department at 325-8611.
