Real estate firm RE/MAX River & Sea will soon move its Astoria office to a newly remodeled on W. Marine Dr., overlooking Young's Bay.

Jennie Hillard, company co-owner with Malcolm Smith, said River & Sea needed more visibility, more parking, and a bigger facility. The company's old Astoria office is located on Bond Street next to the Wauna Credit Union. RE/MAX also has a branch in Gearhart.

Their new Astoria headquarters is actually a remodeled warehouse. Hillard said the new space is high-tech.

"We have wireless networking, a satellite classroom, wireless displays, a webcam for our new Web site, community meeting space, and the ability to expand later."

The new office will give staff lots of breathing room - 3,000 sq. ft. vs. 1,000 sq. ft. in their old location.

The architect for the remodel was Patrick McGee. The project contractor is R.C. Cosgrove Construction. Interior Slocum is the interior designer. Steven and Shirley Morrise own the building.

RE/MAX is shooting for July 20th as the target date to occupy its new digs. They're planning a grand opening event for September.

Another significant perk in the new office: it has daycare space so employees can bring their kids to work.

The new Astoria RE/MAX River & Sea office is located at 757 W. Marine Drive. For more information, call (503) 338-5200.
