LINCOLN CITY – Legacy Real Estate is adjusting with the economic times, says brokerage owner Kathleen Roff.

“Here in Lincoln County, the market has changed dramatically,” she said. “More than 60 percent of our 2011 sales were distressed properties, either short sales or bank owned repossessions.

“We are now dealing with the major banks as the seller, and not the homeowner.

“Legacy has survived the real estate turndown because we have changed our skill sets. For example, top producer Amy Plechaty’s sales have thrived because of the relationship she maintains with bank clients, as well as her background in distressed properties.”

In December 2011, Legacy moved from its smaller second-floor offices to the larger main floor of the building at 4741 SW U.S. Hwy. 101.

Roff said the agency has four brokers now and is looking to add more.
