PORTLAND - Windermere Cronin & Caplan Realty Group Inc., which includes offices in both Gearhart and Cannon Beach, raised $89,862 in 2008 for local charities supporting homeless and low-income families despite the slower real estate market.

Of the money raised, $62,000 will go toward a $250,000 pledge to Portland Hope Meadows, a planned intergenerational project to benefit Oregon foster children. The remainder will be given to community organizations.

All twelve Windermere offices came together in a theatrical production for the community, The All-star Cabaret. The event raised more than $13,000 from ticket sales and a live auction. Offices also conducted many other fundraising activities including a tulip sale, jewelry sale, Christmas decoration auction, installation of a lobby gumball machine, pledges for running a marathon and more.

The Windermere Foundation as a whole raised $1.5 million in 2008. The over-and-above donations exceeded the transaction fee revenue for the ninth consecutive year.
