A workshop on “Red Alder Forest Management” is being offered by the Oregon State University Extension Service from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, starting at the Olney Grange Hall, 89342 Highway 202. The workshop will help forest landowners and forest managers learn about options and methods for managing red alder.

The instructor is Glenn Ahrens, OSU Extension forester. He will cover the latest information on key steps in alder management including stand establishment, tree spacing, pruning, harvesting and marketing. There will be about 90 minutes of indoor presentation plus a field tour to alder management sites.
