Fellowship to meet Sunday

The Pacific Unitarian Universalist (UU) Fellowship will hold a service at 11 a.m. Sunday at the First Congregational Church, 820 Alameda Ave. The Rev. Tim Haley will deliver a sermon, “Apply Your Heart Unto Wisdom.”  

Haley is a retired UU minister who served parishes in Hillsboro, Oregon City, Reston, Va., and Port Townsend, Wash. He received his ministerial training from Harvard Divinity School with an internship at the First Unitarian Church in Portland. He also has a master’s degree in social work, and worked for 16 years in home health/hospice.  

June Baumler will facilitate the service, Julie Green will provide refreshments and Peggy Coreson will be the greeter.

Taize slated in Cannon Beach

CANNON BEACH — Cannon Beach Community Church, 132 E. Washington St., has changed the Sunday evening service from Taize to Evensong, which will be held at 6 p.m. the first and third Sunday of the month. All are welcome.

Evensong features Jennifer Goodenberger (piano), Wes Warhmund (guitar, flute and clarinet) and meditative songs, Psalms, readings, candlelight and time for quiet reflection.

Quakers meet in Seaview

SEAVIEW, Wash. — The Lower Columbia Worship Group of the Society of Friends (Quaker) will meet at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Peninsula Church Center Fireside Room (south building), 5000 N Place, in Seaview. Grace to host open house

Grace Episcopal Church Preschool, 1545 Franklin Ave., will hold an Open House and Registration from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday for classes beginning in the fall. Experienced teachers Denise Allen and Denise Raihala will teach Montesorri-based classes Monday through Friday mornings for 3, 4 and 5-year-old children. Registration packets are also available at the church and on the website.

The Second Sunday of Easter will be celebrated at both the 8 and 10 a.m. services Sunday. The Labyrinth will be available for walking from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday. A labyrinth introduction is offered at 3 p.m. upon request. It takes an average of 30 minutes to complete the walk.

Quiet Moments in Grace, a Taizé-style ecumenical service of chants and prayers, will resume at 7 p.m. Wednesday, and will continue each second Wednesday of the month. All are welcome.

HU?Sing on tap in Seaside

SEASIDE — A Seaside Community HU Sing will take place at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Seaside Public Library, 1131 Broadway. Regardless of one’s beliefs or religion, anyone can sing HU (pronounced hue), an ancient name for God; it is for the spiritual upliftment of those who come, and is not directed to any other purpose.
