The next Clatsop County Women’s Resource Center volunteer training begins at 5 to 8 p.m. July 10, and includes the basics of compassionate communication, crisis intervention, cultural responsiveness, active listening, the impact of oppression on individuals and communities, domestic violence and the law and more. The training includes educators from the WRC as well as many guest speakers from the community.

Volunteers help with one-time events, special projects, office assistance, Déjà Vu’s donation center, and provide ongoing assistance with individuals accessing services. Event volunteers will only attend the first training. Other training requirements vary, depending on the type of volunteer position. Some positions ask for a one-year commitment.

For questions, and to schedule an interview prior to the first session, call 503-325-3426.
