CLATSKANIE - The Great Vow Zen Monastery in Clatskanie will hold "Watering the Seeds of Love," a mindfulness residential retreat in the tradition of Thich Nhat Hanh, led by Jerry Braza, Ph.D., from The Community of Mindful Living Oregon Sanghas, from 5:30 p.m. April 29 to 1:30 p.m. May 2.

Braza, who has a background in health and psychology, recently retired as a professor after 40 years in higher education. Author of "Moment by Moment: The Art and Practice of Mindfulness," he is a Buddhist Dharma teacher.

The cost is $205; for Saturday only, the cost is $75. The cost does not include a donation for the teacher, but does include dormitory accommodations and all vegetarian meals. Register online at (www.zendust.org/jerry_braza.htm)

A 6-day "Precious Mirror Sesshin," led by Hogen Bays, Zenji, will be held from 5 p.m. April 19 to 1 p.m. April 25 at the monastery.
