The Reynolds School District teachers' strike will close schools for a fourth day tomorrow. Reynolds administrators made that announcement late Wednesday afternoon. Officials had been reluctant to call off school in hopes that the two sides were close enough to guarantee evening talks would yield an agreement.
The Reynolds Education Association submitted a proposal late this afternoon, in response to a district offer earlier in the day. Officials from both sides say they're getting closer to an agreement. Reynolds assistant superintendent Tony Mann says school board members couldn't immediately accept the union's latest offer, but he says they are willing to stay into the evening.
