Columbia Memorial Hospital has announced that Rickenbach Construction Co. has been awarded the contract to finish the third floor of the CMH Health & Wellness Pavilion.
Rickenbach of Astoria has a 43-year history of providing construction on the North Coast. Rickenbach completed the CMH Emergency Department Renovation in 2008. The construction project started Monday.
The third floor will be home to many of CMH's medical clinics. "We have several new physicians who have joined Columbia Memorial Hospital," said Erik Thorsen, chief operating officer at CMH.
"We opened the CMH Orthopedics Clinic this past July, when Dr. Robert Callahan joined the CMH team." Callahan is being joined by Dr. William LaCost on Feb. 16, expanding the orthopedic clinic to two providers.
Dr. David Liebel, a urologist, joined the CMH team of physicians in July 2008, and his practice became the CMH Urology Clinic. Three months ago, Dr. Garrett Marshall opened the CMH Sports, Occupational & Rehabilitation Medicine Clinic. This month, with the arrival of Dr. William Merry, CMH opened its newest clinic, the CMH Surgery Clinic. On completion of the third floor, local pediatrician Dr. Ramchander Madhavarapu will be moving his practice there to become the CMH Pediatric Clinic.
The first two floors of the CMH Health & Wellness Pavilion were completed and opened in June 2008. The first floor houses the CMH Urgent Care and a women's diagnostic imaging center. A new digital X-ray machine and a complete digital reading room round out the CMH Imaging Department. A new clinic support department was moved into the first floor this winter.
The second floor has a new rehabilitation department and a women's center offering specialized wellness services for women of all ages.
