Plans to move the River Theater to a new location will be unveiled at the Port of Astoria meeting tonight.

The site is northwest of the existing location on Marine Drive under the Astoria Bridge. It is between Bay Street and the old Astoria and Columbia River Railroad tracks.

The 21,842-square foot site would be leased by Caffeination Corp. and become home for the theater and the Columbia Coffee Roasting Co. Owners Tim Hurd and Nancy Montgomery are urging supporters to attend the meeting to show support for the plan.

Port commissioners will consider the $633 a month lease for the location at their meeting at 6 p.m. at the port offices, No. 1 Portway St. Deputy Director Bill Cook is recommending approval.

The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2008.
