Sandra Jean Gazeley, 50, of Seaside, died Saturday, Aug. 13, 2005, in Seaside.

Mrs. Gazeley was bon Oct. 15, 1954 in Seattle, Wash., to Kenneth and Marilyn (Gunther) Fulmer. Her father preceded her in death; Her mother survives residing in Seaside.

She grew up and graduated from Inglemoore High School in Seattle. In 1972, she moved with her family to Los Gatos, Calif. She worked for an advertising company. In 1977, she married Thomas Hecox, Sr. in Los Gatos. They moved to Seaside in 1979.

In 1992, she married Ronald Gazeley in Seaside. He preceded her in death.

Mrs. Gazeley and her family moved to Jewell where she was a cook at the Elderberry Inn for seven years, when she decided to stay at home and raise her family.

Family members said she loved to garden and tend to her flowers. She taught herself to make antique lampshades. They said she loved her animals, music, sun, ocean, and especially her bright, sunny days.

She is survived by a son, T.J. Hecox, Jr. of Jewell; a daughter, Sarah Jean Hecox of Hillsboro; a stepdaughter, Angela Gazeley of Albany; a brother, Ted Fulmer of Seattle; two sisters, Donna Baxstrom of Glendale, Ariz., and Diana Kuhfeld of Port Orchard, Wash.; an uncle, Fred Fulmer, Sr. of Seaside; an aunt, Barbara Babb of Seattle; her best friend and nurse, Susan Cox of Warrenton; and numerous other family members.

A memorial will be at 5 p.m. on Thursday, at the American Legion, 1315 Broadway, Seaside.
