Seaside High School band has every reason to celebrate.

The young musicians placed second in the OSAA 4A State Championships Wednesday, behind Douglas by seven points and ahead of Klamath Union and Gladstone.

This is the second year in a row that the Seaside musicians have placed second. They are led by teacher Terry Dahlgren.

The success came despite a mishap on the journey. The cargo door of the school bus swung open and a couple of horns fell out.

Luckily, a student saw it happen and the bus stopped right away. It turned out only the cases were damaged.
