Seaside Public Library will present a month-long exhibition of artwork by Broadway Middle School students, from April 7 through 27, with the theme "Exploring the Principles of Art." An opening reception for the young artists will be hosted by the Friends of Seaside Library from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 7, in the library community room. Refreshments will be served and the public is welcome.

According to Broadway Middle School art teacher Emily Thomas, there will be artwork from all three of her art classes. Sumi-E ink painting, paper mache and clay works are just some of the pieces included in the exhibition.

The student artworks will be displayed in the library community room and foyer, as well as in the main library. Seaside Library has a tradition of hosting student art shows each spring. An exhibit for Seaside High School art students will be held in May.

Seaside Public Library is located at 1131 Broadway, across from the Sunset Empire Parks and Recreation District Youth Center and Swimming Pool. For more information, call (503) 738-6742 or visit www.seasidelibrary.org or www.facebook.com/seasidepubliclibrary
