SEASIDE - A chance to cheer returns Saturday with the annual Holiday Lighted Float and Caroling Parade.

The public is invited to gather at Broadway and Holladay Drive shortly after 6:30 p.m., to watch the assortment of lighted floats coming downtown at 7 p.m., and follow the procession while caroling.

The parade will end at Quatat Park next to the Seaside Civic and Convention Center for the lighting of the Christmas tree. Free hot cider and cookies will be offered.

Organized by the Seaside Chamber of Commerce, the event kicks off "Yuletide in Seaside." Ken Meiser, executive director of the chamber, has said Santa and Mrs. Claus are expected to join the festivities.

The procession is expected to head from the Seaside Museum and Historical Society at 570 Necanicum Drive to First Avenue, east to Holladay Drive, south to Broadway and then to Columbia Street before turning to Quatat Park.
