SEASIDE - The Seaside Planning Commission met briefly Tuesday and approved a conditional use request for 32 condominium units at 102 N. Holladay Drive, the old Copeland Lumber site.

The developers, represented by Les Bick of Portland, hope to begin construction of the Riverview Manor Condominiums in March, provided all site planning proceeds on schedule. Sixteen units will be located side-by-side on four stories in two buildings, facing the Necanicum River. The plan also includes 64 parking spaces, 32 in enclosed garages.

Commissioners requested review of a more detailed site plan at a future work session to address several issues, including handicapped parking, lighting, landscaping, storm water collection, riparian vegetation, recycling area and erosion control.

There was no opposition to the request.

In other action, commissioners:

• Approved a request for a two-bedroom vacation rental dwelling at 2366 Ocean Vista, with the requirement to ensure adequate access to off-street parking.

• Approved a request for a four-bedroom vacation rental dwelling at 2132 S. Columbia St. with the requirement that parking is limited to the area on the site plan to maintain native landscaping already there.

• Approved a request to add one additional condominium unit to the Whaler's Point development at the end of Sunset Boulevard and to incorporate an additional property into the original planned development.
