SEASIDE - The public is invited to testify on what type of highway is best for Seaside tonight.

The Planning Commission will hear testimony at 7 p.m. at City Hall at 989 Broadway Drive. The commission was assigned to develop a Transportation Systems Plan based on what the people of Seaside want, whether it is a bigger highway, bypass or something else. The Oregon Department of Transportation said a TSP was the city's next step after voters rejected an ODOT plan to widen the highway in May.

City Planner Kevin Cupples hopes for a big turnout to give the commission some guidance. He was surprised at the first meeting when only a few people testified. "I know more than five people voted on it," he said.
