The District 1 and Cowapa League All-Star girls soccer teams have been chosen, and the selections include several players from Astoria and Seaside.

The Gulls landed two players on the District 1 first team - sophomore Linsey Johnson and senior goalkeeper Rebecca Lent. Astoria seniors Elizabeth 'Bug' Coggins (goalkeeper) and Melissa Law were named to the second team, along with Seaside sophomore Kai Davidson.

The District 1 team had two Players of the Year - Esther Harder, Yamhill-Carlton, and Megan Gabourel, Valley Catholic; and three Coaches of the Year - Scot Thompson, Oregon Episcopal; Tudor Flintham, Valley Catholic; Bob Harder, Yamhill Carlton.

Meanwhile, Esther Harder earned the Cowapa League's Player of the Year honor, as one of 15 players named to the first team.

Astoria and Seaside both had four players selected first team - Fishermen seniors Charlene Harber and Sarah Pope, along with Coggins and Law, who made all-league for the fourth straight year; and Seaside's Ceara Lewis, Davidson, Johnson and Lent.

The Gulls held their team awards Thursday night, with Lent voted as the MVP and Most Inspirational; Johnson was the Defensive Player of the Year; Anna Toyas was named Offensive Player of the Year; and Stormey Bruneau was voted Most Improved.
